This national mini-unit focuses on the country’s Confederation debates. It conforms to provincial curriculum requirements, and contains group activities that allow students to engage with the biographies and statements of provincial, federal historical figures from every province who adopted pro- and anti-Confederation positions. It also contains lesson plans that encourage cultural understanding and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples.
